SOUTH Cheshire motorists are being warned to expect delays around the Congleton area.
The A34, Manchester Road and A536, Macclesfield Road in Congleton are to be resurfaced this month.
The essential work on the gyratory system will take place on Sunday September 12 on the A34 and Sunday September 19 on the A536, between 7am and 5pm.
During this time, a short stretch of the A34 and A536, in the vicinity of The Grove pub will be closed to through traffic.
All traffic will be diverted using temporary traffic lights. Lower Heath Avenue will also be closed with a diversion route in place.
Traffic delays are expected and commuters are asked to find alternative routes where possible.
Councillor Rod Menlove said: “This resurfacing work is essential.
"Although traffic delays are expected, every effort has been made to minimise disruption. I would like to thank local residents and commuters for their patience during this time.”
