LOCAL music promoters Angry Badgers host the first of a series of acoustic evenings at The Imp in Crewe on Thursday March 24.

Initially running every other Thursday, these Acoustic Addiction gigs will bring the very best of acoustic talent to the Edleston Road venue.

First up is Congleton singer-songwriter Phil Maddocks, who is influenced by the likes of Bob Dylan and Richard Thompson.

He is signed to Phoenixx Records and will be releasing his debut album shortly.

He won the John Brunker songwriting award in 2007 and has supported acts including Carrie Rodriguez, Tom Hingley, Mark Morriss, Martyn Joseph and Harvey Andrews.

Angry Badger Nick Bayes said: "This is a real coup for our opening show. "Phil is a truly excellent musician who we have had the pleasure of working with on several occasions.

"We are very pleased that he has agreed to play for us and we are really looking forward to his show.

"This gig is not to be missed.'

The show is free and starts at 9pm.
