JIMMY Quinn’s first activity in the transfer market for Nantwich Town brought in a striker and a goalkeeper at the end of last week.

With Nantwich unable to extend Jordan Connerton’s loan until the end of season due to league rules, the manager was anxious to secure a replacement striker as soon as possible.

Crewe Alexandra once again demonstrated their willingness to allow players to gain experience at The Weaver Stadium by offering 18-year-old second-year scholar Jason Oswell until the end of the season.

Oswell is no stranger to Evo-Stik League football having recently completed a successful loan period with First Division South Market Drayton Town, where he scored six goals.

Nantwich also secured the signing of 19-year-old goalkeeper Daniel Platt from Blue Square Bet (North) Telford United.

Platt came through the youth ranks at Crewe Alexandra before joining Vauxhall Motors. He signed for Telford last summer but with three goalkeepers on their books, his first team appearances had been limited.
