NANTWICH Town secured a vital 5-0 win over fellow strugglers Ossett Town last weekend to keep them afloat in the Evo-stik Premier Division.
A hat-trick for Michael Lennon and one each for Glynn Blackhurst and Sam Aspinwall gave Nantwich a well-deserved win, as they look to seperate themselves from the relegation battle at the bottom of the table.
But their fortunes changed on Tuesday, as they fell to a 4-2 defeat at the hands of mid-table Matlock Town to keep them on the brink.
They will face a vitally important task on Saturday, when they host fifth-place Buxton at Weaver Stadium in their final home game of the season.
Dabbers are hovering dangerously close to the drop zone, with just two points separating them and Frickley Athletic in 19th place.
Only wins will do as they enter the final stage of the season, with victories against Buxton on Saturday and against Colwyn Bay in the final game of the season enough to secure their place in the Premier Division for another year.
