SANDBACH Apprentice hopeful Zoe Beresford moved forward in the competition with an impressive win on the hit TV series this week.

Zoe, 26, of Arclid, played a part in a record-breaking team performance in Paris.

But despite the win, Zoe has some strong rivals for the top prize, with her friend and team mate Helen emerging as a clear frontrunner.

In this latest task the candidates had to struggle with the language barrier as they looked to sell British products on the French market.

Following an impressive 'pitch' by Helen, Zoe's team secured more than 214,000 Euros worth of sales.

Zoe had a relatively quiet week but progressed through to the next round with a clear win over the rival team.

Born in Stoke-on-Trent, Zoe works for The Clever Little Drinks Company, her family's Arclid-based business, as a project manager.

She bought a house with her sister at the age of just 12 and was awarded the Rolls-Royce Manufacturing Technology Prize for the highest dissertation mark in the school of engineering.

Following the win, Zoe's team were treated to a flying lesson, while fast food entrepreneur Leon Doyle was fired by Lord Sugar.

The candidates face a new challenge next week, tasked with creating, branding and pitching a new kind of biscuit.
