A TALENTED swimmer who has her eye on the London 2012 Olympics has picked South Cheshire College’s Fitness Academy to boost her qualifying bid.
Willaston girl, Charlotte Bradbury, is set on representing Great Britain in the 200 metres breast stroke event and will fight to secure her place at the final trials later this month.
The 16-year-old is currently ranked fourth in the open age category but needs to finish second to secure an Olympics spot.
She will be stepping up her fitness ahead of the trials with extra training at South Cheshire College’s Fitness Academy under the guidance of personal trainer Jon Venables.
The former Malbank School pupil is a member of the City of Liverpool Swimming Club where she trains twice a day. She is also now cramming extra daily training sessions at the Academy where she hopes to make her Olympic dream a reality.
Charlotte said: “I’m close to going to the Olympics but if there is one thing that lets me down it’s the power I generate in my lower body when I’m in the water.
“I’ve really benefitted from coming to the Fitness Academy because it’s on my doorstep and I’m able to drop in most days.”
