A MOTHER who bared her soul to help others who have suffered miscarriages is to reveal even more when she stars in a charity naked calendar.

Claire Clulow, from Crewe, will be one of four Miss Julys when the calendar is published later this year. Its goal will be to raise money for The Miscarriage Association.

“A group of more than 20 ladies met through a facebook page where we bared our souls to help ourselves and one another,” said Claire, 43.

“It became a place where members could have fun and remember that not only were they ‘Mums to Angels’, but also, they were women who were still women.

“Together we decided we wanted to do more to fundraise for the cause and the idea of the calendar was born.”

Members of MC Breakout – which was organised by Caroline Williams – will pose for the calendar with their modesty preserved by strategically-placed props.

Claire has six children, but suffered four miscarriages, three of which occurred in the space of two years. The Facebook group didn’t exist at that time, but she has since drawn great strength from her online chats with others who have gone through similar experiences.

Through the support of the Miscarriage Association it was discovered that Claire was a carrier of Roberstonian Translocation, a chromosomal defect that affects one in 1,500 people when trying for a baby.

Many of these women are now in contact thanks to the Miscarriage Association and together they help each other cope with their grief.

“The association helps each and every family to cope with their loss and understand that it is ok to cry, feel sad and for it to hurt like hell,” said Claire.

“It also helps families to realise that it is ok to smile and laugh until your sides hurt because you are human and what you’re going through is a grieving process that only someone in this situation can understand.”

One in four pregnancies end in a miscarriage and there is support and information available through the Miscarriage Association. Call them on 01924 200 799.
