A WOMAN was injured while being mugged in Newton Street, Crewe, on May 25.

The woman was walking along the road at around 1pm.

As she approached the Oakley Centre, close to the pedestrian crossing on West Street, a man approached her and demanded money.

As the woman handed a quantity of cash over, the man grabbed her arm, causing her an injury.

The woman was left shaken by the incident, but did not need hospital treatment.

The offender is described as white, in his 20s, of medium build with short, shaved hair. He was wearing a black t shirt and black shorts.

Police are appealing for information on the crime.

They particularly want to speak to two smartly dressed men who were seen jumping over a low wall near the pedestrian crossing, and a woman with a child who was seen walking along Newton Street toward the West Street crossing when the robbery occurred.
