Leighton Hospital to hold breastfeeding awareness events

STAFF at Leighton Hospital in Crewe will be hosting information events for expectant mothers from Monday, as part of National Breastfeeding Awareness Week.

The hospital’s ante natal clinic will have an information display throughout the week, and staff will visit Mothercare in Crewe on Wednesday, June 27, to promote the benefits of breastfeeding.

Midwives and other healthcare professionals, including staff from CHERUBS - the Cheshire Really Useful Breastfeeding Team - will provide information on the benefits of breastfeeding for mother and child.

They will offer practical advice and details of the various support networks available.

A raffle will be held at both locations for those who complete a questionnaire on the topic.
