A SANDBACH boy has scooped first prize in a science competition with his innovative energy-saving idea.
Ten-year-old James Millington won the Manchester Science and Industry Museum’s (MOSI) Message in a Bottle competition.
His winning design, named No More Waste Man, was of a machine that could turn rubbish into building bricks.
He explained: “You empty the household waste into the machine and it compacts the waste into a cube. Then a grabber would take the cube down into a bath of melted plastic bottles to coat it in plastic. “These cubes could be used as building blocks to make the eco friendly houses of the future,” he said.
James was given a goodie bag and treated to a tour of Manchester’s green- thinking Unicorn Grocery business.
His design forms part of the No More Waste display at MOSI.
