'Sharp object' held to woman's throat during mugging

A WOMAN was mugged in Sandbach as she walked along Price Drive, toward Price Avenue, at 11.30 am on Friday, June 29.
The male offender approached the 46-year-old woman from behind and held a sharp object to her throat.
He rifled through the woman’s coat pockets, stealing her purse that contained a quantity of cash.
She screamed and the offender ran off down Price Drive toward Sandbach Town Centre.
The man is described as having a stocky build. He wore a dark hoodie, with the hood up, and was wearing jeans.
DC Matt Dutton said: Thankfully, this type of crime is rare in Sandbach. The victim was not harmed but was left shaken by her ordeal.”
