Police blog to record the Olympics
1:00pm Saturday 28th July 2012 in News By Matthew Taylor
A POLICEMAN from Crewe will be recording his experiences of patrolling the Olympics in a new blog.
PC Anthony Hayhurst, 35, has been selected for deployment to London 2012.
Tony, who helps bereaved families as a family liaison officer, has been memorising London Underground maps to assist visitors.
He remembered the ‘fantastic atmpsohere’ in Crewe when the Olympic torch passed through the town in May and said he was looking forward to his important new posting.
Readers can follow his blog between July 27 to August 13 at www.cheshire.police.uk and get in touch via twitter.com/cheshirepolice and facebook.com/cheshirepolice.
The force are also running Olympics themed competitions on their website during the Olympiad.
