Help us catch arsonist - Fire Service

CHESHIRE Fire and Rescue Service is urging members of the public to come forward with information that may help find those responsible for a series of arson attacks in the Crewe area.

Over the past few months the Service has been dealing with an increase in the number of deliberate fires.

Most have involved apparently random attacks on parked cars .

Colin Heyes, the Service's arson reduction manager, said: "There fires are often very close to people's homes and so have the potential to threaten life. Thankfully no-one has been hurt so far but we fear this may not be the case if these attacks continue. "Therefore we would like the community's help in finding those responsible for these crimes.

Firefighters and Police Officers are planning to deliver more than 2,000 letters urging people to get in touch with any information that may help bring this spate of attacks to an end.

Mr Heyes added: "Arson costs communities heavily both in terms of the clear up costs and increases to insurance premiums.

“We are sure someone out there knows something that may help bring this spate of criminal attacks to an end we just need them to come forward,”

Anyone with information should on the fires can Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, or Cheshire police on 101.
