CREWE West Conservative Campaigners (Goff, Parker, Weatherill) are very concerned that Crewe residents are currently paying a 5p per Litre premium for their fuel compared to Stoke on Trent. What is our local MP, Gwyneth Dunwoody, doing to rectify this gross injustice?
Although the global price of oil has been increasing leading to inflationary pressures, the Labour Government could ease the problem by reducing the bloated excise duty on petrol. Such a measure would reduce the growing pressure on household budgets whilst helping to avoid higher inflation and future industrial unrest.
Already the Trade Unions are planning a summer of discontent as their members demand higher wages to offset the increased costs of new Labour failure. We are now experiencing the same economic conditions, rising inflation and increased wage demands, that led to the demise of the last Labour Government in the 1970s.
