No need for chief executive stand-in
11:29am Thursday 10th May 2012 in News
I FULLY endorse the letter signed by Richard Hanson concerning the pay of the chief executive stand-in that was printed in the Guardian, April 26.
Surely she has a deputy or department chief who would or should act as a stand-in while she is away?
No person is indispensable, not even council chief executives, and there must be members of her staff who would jump at the chance of assuming her role for the period of her absence.
Or is she afraid that someone on a lower salary proves to be capable of fulfilling her role?
While on the subject of the pay of the chief executive, has she taken a cut in her exorbitant salary?
Many of her employees have been laid off or are on short-time working and have thereby taken a pay cut, what has she done?
It would be interesting to find out.
