Fines based on circumstance

I HAVE recently encountered a number of cases involving mandatory fines.

Clearly they are unfair since well-off people may shrug aside the fine but, for example, pensioners and citizens with heavy family commitments find them a serious imposition.

Surely the mandatory fine should be based on your percentage of income and circumstances?

The present system is grossly unfair.

I trust that our councillors and MPs will rectify matters.
