CREWE Flyers made an excellent start to their new season, returning from the North Midlands Championships at Macclesfield Pool with a healthy total of 30 medals.

Flyers took a total of 32 swimmers to the competition, with 12 of that team returning with a medal despite the tough competition on offer from teams across the South Cheshire and North Staffordshire areas.

Head coach Farouk Graba said: “I was impressed with the performances of our swimmers so early in the new season.

“It was a great starting point.”

Star turns were recorded by usual suspects Grace Farr and Ben Cleaveley, with the pair each claiming four gold and a silver medal for their day’s work.

Farr also added a bronze for good measure.

Both also scooped individual prizes for being the top boy or girl in their age group, with Flyers teammates Ben Buckley, Elliot Bloor and Eleanor Bloor also winning additional trophies to add to the four gold and three silver medals the trio won in their age categories.

An impressive feat condsidering some faced challenges from almost 150 otheryoung swimmers at the event.

Emma Duff, two, Aaron Glover, Beth Moore and Stuart Eastwood each won silver medals, with the haul being completed by bronze medals for Aaron Glover, Beth Moore, Bryony Crank, Daniel Mears and Emma Duff.
