Girls still top of their league

A FINE 5-3 victory over neighbours Sandbach United keeps Crewe and Nantiwch under 16s girls’ football team top of the league by three points with two games left to play.

Selina O'Neil and Aimee Scragg each found the net twice, with the other being an own goal.

Crewe broke the deadlock with their first real chance in the 15th minute and soon doubled their lead.

Sandbach cut the defit to 2-1 in a rally of tit-for-tat scoring that sequenced 3-1, 3-2, 4-2 and 4-3 before Scragg netted the deciding fifth.
