Pressure took its toll on Crewe
2:00pm Friday 15th February 2013 in Sport
CREWE and Nantwich under 12s girls’ football team lost 2-1 against Frodsham.
Despite being a player short, Crewe started the match well and took the lead.
A Frodsham throw-in was intercepted and the ball fell to Charlotte Watson.
She turned well and fed Jessica Cottrell, who still had a lot of work to do and despite the attention of two Frodsham players, she managed to break free and run half the length of the ptich to put the ball into the bottom corner.
Frodsham got back into the game in the second half and it became a backs-to-the-wall effort for Crewe.
All the players were showing a great team spirit and were defending together but pressure from Frodsham was eventually converted into the winning goal.
