PIONEERS A kept strictly to the form book as they sailed through the final of Crewe Open League’s Winter Knockout final with an 8-2 aggregate scoreline over opponents Hop Pole A.
Pioneers soon built a 3-0 lead thanks to darts victories for Tony Richardson and Fred Smith and a dominoes success for John Speed.
Hop Pole tried to get back in the contest, with a darts win from Paul Sheehan and dominoes win by Colin Capper reducing Pi's lead to 3-2 but this was short lived as John Speed, Chris Woolly and an 18 darter from captain Pete Boughey combined to put the contest beyond the Pole.
John Woolley and Keith Morgan won their dominoes games to see the Pioneers through to the final with a comfortable 8-2 aggregate score.
