Westend sneak past Amals B to reach round two

AMALGAMATED B came within a dominoes win of making round two, but Crewe Liberal Club Open League Knockout runners-up Westend Band C progressed from a close-fought tie.
Band C took the darts 5-2, but only the final dominoes pair of Reg Beech and Russ Phillips secured the decisive point in an 8-7 aggregate win.
Pioneers A enter the winter season as reigning champions and sailed into round two with a 7-0 whitewash of Swan and Chequers.
Pete Boughey’s15 darts and Tony Richardson’s 17 darts complemented Nigel Palin and Fred Smith’s dominoes victories in a 9-2 win.
Cosey Club witnessed Dave Wood, Bobby Baynham, Simon Preston and Tony Swindells in top darts form, the latter with a 112-checkout.
This secured a 7-0 whitewash and, although Brunel won the dominoes 5-3, Cosey ran out comfortable 10-5 winners.
Patrick Lynskey’s 180 helped Westend Lmr B to an 8-2 aggregate victory over Captain Webb, Kevin Goodwin winning the dominoes.

Matty Cooke and Nathan Brookshaw helped Brunel A to victory in their 9-2 success against Hop Pole B.
Express beat Brunel B, Kings Arms B trumped Rileys B and Oddfellows sent Hawk packing with an 8-4 win.
