KINGS Arms A took a commanding 10-point lead in the Premier Division of Crewe Open League’s dominoes standings, courtesy of a whitewash of bottom club Imperial.

The chasing pack is led by Nantwich Road A, who were 5-3 winners at White Lion B, while Commercial displaced Vine A from third spot after beating them 6-2.

Division One’s top four met the bottom four and came away with victories, with leaders Express now two points clear of White Lion A.

Division Two’s top five had a bad night, with none of them managing a win. Top pair Pioneers Club B and Woodside remain separated by two points after 5-3 reverses at the hands of Horse Shoe and Rising Sun A, while Cheshire Cheese closed the gap with a draw at bottom-placed Sydney Arms.

Any further slips by the top two could see the following seven teams, currently covered by four points, making a challenge.

Division Three saw four of the five fixtures ending all square with no positional changes for the top trio of Coppenhall Leighton, Liberal Club and Brunel Arms A.

But Vine C’s 6-2 defeat of Oddfellows Club lifts them up to fourth.

Division Four toppers Coach and Horses drew with Raven, but increase their lead to six points from White Lion, who move ahead of Swan and Chequers after beating them 6-2.

Division Five is led by Brunel Arms B, who won 6-2 at Rileys Club B to regain their 10-points buffer over Duke of Bridgewater B.
