A NEW Nantwich racing team is all geared up for 2014 competition.

The team has been created on the back of intense interest in Britain leading the way in the professional sport of cycling.

Vision Racing has been put together by cycling enthusiast Ian Middleton and has launched with an initial membership of 10 - all of whom are looking forward to tackling the 2014 racing season.

Strong support for the new team has already been shown, with sponsors including GRM Property Consultants, Mark Beavan Associates and the Cheshire based award-winning Delamere Dairy – all of whom have helped with initial set-up requirements including kit, equipment and training.

Additional support comes in the form of a partnership with Reaseheath College.

Middleton, team principal, said: “Having been involved with cycling clubs for many years I’ve seen the passion for the sport grow and grow and was keen to find a way to support and help individuals who want to compete and race in their chosen sport.

“When I started to make initial enquiries about setting up Vision Racing I realised there was very strong interest and it hasn’t been at all hard to establish a team!

“I’d like to thank all our sponsors without whom we wouldn’t have been able to make such a speedy and professional start and I’m sure I speak for everyone involved when I wish all members of the team every success for the future. We are all looking forward to working together and seeing how our first season progresses.”

Vision Racing team members’ main focus will be to compete in British Cycling and TLI road racing events, Manchester and District Time Trial Association (MDTTA) time trials as well as British triathlon and Duathlon events between March and October.
