CREWE Flyers travelled to Leasowe for round three of the Arena North West Swimming League Division 1.
Divison 1 is a tough division with 18 teams competing in three galas.
The club found themselves in the final gala in the relegation play off and with only three teams staying up it was a tense night.
Crewe were up against stiff opposition from Halton, Hoylake, Garston, Blackburn and Everton.
A group of 29 swimmers did themselves proud on a competitive night’s action finishing in second place with some excellent teamwork and individual swims.
Crewe were chasing top spot but had to fight off a determined push from Hoylake and Garston and the team was not mathematically safe until the last few races of a tough 50 events evening of racing
