CREWE Open League’s Premier Division Dominoes’ top four met, with second-placed Nantwich Road A slightly reducing leaders Kings Arms A’s lead by beating them 5-3. Third-placed West End Band C more or less ended closest rivals Vine A’s trophy interest by beating them 6-2.
Division One is still very close, with six points covering the top seven teams.
Hop Pole A beat bottom team Duke of Bridgewater A 6-2 to take their turn at the top, albeit on results between them.
Nantwich Road ASLEF, who move up two places to second after hammering deposed leaders Express 7-1, are now third and two points behind the top pair.
Division Two is also a close section, with second to ninth places covered by just four points.
Leaders pioneers Club B let slip a 3-1 advantage in their draw with Bridge A and are four points clear of new challengers Horse Shoe, who are up two places from fourth after beating Nomads 5-3.
Woodside drew at Bridge C and drop to third on the matches won parameter.
Division Three pacemakers Brunel Arms A scrambled a draw with Rileys Club A, with Liberal Club up to second after beating Captain Webb 5-3.
Coppenhall Leighton drop to third after a disastrous double 7-1 defeat night at the Oddies, to head five teams covered by two points.
Division Four leaders Coach and Horses top-scored with a 7-1 trouncing of hosts Dishers Club to increase their points lead to six over White Lion, who along with Waldron and Rising Sun B move ahead of Swan and Chequers.
Division Five’s top two clashed with pacemakers Brunel Arms B’s 5-3 win at Duke of Bridgewater B taking them five points clear of second-placed challengers Duke C, who beat Cheese Hall 5-3.
