CREWE Flyers swimmer Ben Cleaveley recently competed in the Northern Zonal meet, which comprised of the top swimmers from across the north of England.
The meeting attracts swimmers from the big city clubs and competition over the two days was tough.
Ben competed in six events over the weekend and had some excellent results, finishing seventh in both the 100 metre breaststroke and 100m fly.
Cleaveley surpassed that effort in both the 50m freestyle and 200m individual medley.
He finished third in the 50m freestyle heats, repeating the feat in the final.
He went one better in the medley, finishing second in both the heats and final to earn a well-deserved silver medal.
A Flyers spokesman said: “It was an excellent performance from Ben.
“This will give him great encouragement over a busy few months, when he will be competing against the best swimmers in the region.”
