CREWE Flyers headed to Dane Valley’s Congelton Leisure Centre home for round two of the Crusader League.

Flyers’ team of 38 swimmers went one better than in round one, topping the table ahead of opponents Oakengates, Dane Valley and recently promoted Knutsford.

Having scored 279 points on the night, 40 more than second-placed Knutsford, Flyers leapt to the top of the overall league table with 521.5 points ahead of Knutsford Vikings, 493.50, Dane Valley, 466, and Okaengates, 380.

Coach Andy Coutts said: “I was pleased with a great effort on the night.

“Thank you team officials Nikki, Becky, Ade, and Tanya and Tracey Farr for helping me out at the lane’s end.

“Well done to Ade and Hayley for what was clearly an inspired team selection.

“Also, we send a big thanks also to parents on the balcony, I could hear you!

“To all the swimmers who braved the winter storms to swim, in some cases only one relay, a really big thanks.

“You will have your chance to shine in individual galas, but this was all about the team and what a magnificent victory we achieved!”
