A TITLE-challenging start to the Crewe Liberal Club Open League Premiership campaign from Cosey Club, Pioneers A and Westend Lmr B sees them lead the way after round two.

They completed whitewashes of respective opponents Kings A, Nantwich Rd Aslef and Commercial, followed by Westend Band C after a 7-1 win against Vine A.

Westend Lmr B’s Patrick Lynskey hit a 12 dart leg, including a brace of 180s, adding a 17 darter and another 180.

Teammates Shaun Wilkinson, 17 darts, Chris Townsend, 18 darts with a 143 checkout, and Chris Gibson, with a 126 finish, were also on form.

Pioneer A’s top throwers were John Cooper, 14 darts and a 180, Fred Smith, 17 darts and a 100 checkout, Tony Richardson 18,19 darts and a 180, and Pete Boughey with a 118 finish.

Dave Wood’s 100 checkout and Bobby Baynham’s180 helped Cosey to victory, while Robbie Arrowsmith’s brace of 17 darters including a 180, Steve Tizard’s 18 darts and Mel Roberts’ 180 were Westend Band C’s star men. Wayne Patton and Daryll Taylor hit 180s for Kings A.

White Lion F/Lane B lead Division One after a 5-3 victory over Broughton, aided by Ryan Proctor, 16 darts, Mark Clowes, 17 darts with a 180, and a 180 from Aaron Ayres.

Delamere sit a point behind following a 5-3 win against Cheshire Cheese, while Nantwich Road A dropped to third, losing 6-2 to Amalgamated A as Mark Woolrich hit a 19 darter with a110 finish.

Oddfellows are setting the pace in Division Two following a 6-2 victory over Bridge C.

Brunel A, 7-1 winners at Horseshoe, remain a point adrift with Sydney, also 7-1 victors at Express, a further point behind in third.

Oddfellows’ Reg Corbett, 19 darts, Frazer Cooper, 108 checkout, and Gary Talbot, 116 checkout, were all on form.

Rob Paine’s 180 helped Sydney, while Nick Rathbone’s 18 darts and 108 checkout could not halt Horseshoe’s defeat.

Rileys A top Division Three after thrashing Vine B 7-1 with Hawk dropping to second after drawing with Kings B.

Jason Whitehead’s 116 checkout helped Swan and Chequers leapfrog Liberal, who they beat 6-2.

A 19 darter including a180 from Jamie Clorley in a 7-1 trouncing of Dishers B sees Willaston Club head Division Four.

Nags Head, with Andy Curran hitting a 123 finish on the bull to a 15 dart game, beat Coach and Horses 6-2.

White Lion (Copp) won 6-2 winners at strugglers Duke of Bridgewater C.

In Division Five, Prince of Wales A beat their D side 6-2 helped by John Speed’s 19 dart game.

Second-placed Rileys B sit three points behind, they won 6-2 at Foresters B.
