Nantwich Town 1 Buxton 1

NANTWICH Town settled for a point at the Weaver Stadium on Tuesday after a draw with Buxton in the Evo Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division.

Dabbers’ Andrew Pearson lashed home from the edge of the box after Liam Hardy had opened the scoring early on.

Towering centre back Mat Bailey blocked a Buxton effort after 12 minutes, but could not stop Hardy opening the scoring five minutes later from Craig King’s cross.

Buxton were forced to replace usual stopper Andy Warrington with midfielder Steve Istead on 25 minutes after a collision with Steve Foster injured the keeper’s eye.

Istead saved from Foster soon after, but could not stop Pearson’s fierce strike on 32 minutes.
