Crewe Alexandra 1 Coventry City 2
CREWE Alexandra were thrust back into the relegation mire after a home defeat to Coventry City on Saturday.
Callum Wilson scored twice for the Sky Blues, his winner after a Jordan Clarke own goal had levelled sending the Alex into League One's bottom four on goal difference.
Coventry broke the deadlock on 25 minutes when Wilson reacted first to guide Franck Moussa’s shot into the net after it came back off the post.
The Sky Blues enjoyed the better of the first half chances, but it was a dominant Crewe performance after the break.
The Railwaymen got their equaliser just after the hour as Clarke headed into his own net from a corner, but Wilson pounced with nine minutes remaining to hit the winner.
Top scorer Chuks Aneke’s effort from the edge of the box was saved in added time, before last-ditch Mark Ellis and Byron Moore efforts drifted wide.
