OULTON Park hosted 340 riders across 18 races at the Wirral 100 Club’s smooth running premier motorcycle race day at the weekend.

Craig Beggs stamped his name on the 650 Twins event in his 650cc Suzuki against a full grid of 35 riders, winning both races by several seconds.

James Harrison, on his 1,000cc Honda, was also in good form in the Powerbikes races against 38 other riders.

In the first race he finished in third place and improved in the following race to grab second spot.

After a brief rest Harrison also raced in the ifm-moto.com Senior race and finished third from 27 starters.

Leslie Mason rode his 1,000cc Kawasaki in the same races and finished 23rd, 18th and 25th respectively.

Mark Copeland raced home in 15th and 18th place in the 650 Twins, before finishing fourth in the Lightweight Open.

In the Classic 250, John Holt took his 250cc DW Hornet to seventh place, while John Jones raced his 500cc Matchless to seventh in the Classic 500.

Finally, Roger Stockton on a 600cc Honda raced in the Golden Era Supersports races and finished eighth in both races.
