NANTWICH-based Chevron Cars had a tough start to 2014 GT Cup series on the opening weekend at Donington with Jordan Witt’s new GT3 suffering from a fuel issue in qualifying that could not be fixed in time for the first race.
The GT4 fared better on its debut, competing in all three races with team owner David Witt behind the wheel in tricky changeable weather conditions.
The car had no issues and showed considerable promise for the future especially considering it had only half an hour of testing since the car’s completion on the April 22.
David Witt said: “We have had a typical race weekend with some ups and some downs. We always hope for more ups than downs but both cars showed amazing promise with the GT4 completing all three races.
“We are disappointed that we had a problem with the GT3 but we are looking forward to the rest of the GT Cup season.”
Chevron Cars will be back in action at the next round of the GT Cup at Brands Hatch, May 17 to 18.
