Division One toppers Delamere Arms lost 5-3 at Cheshire Cheese, although main rivals Broughton Arms and White Lion A failed to take advantage, returning poor results from White Lion B and Pioneers B.
Another close section has five points covering second to seventh places.
Division Two pacemakers Oddfellows Club beat Bridge C 6-2 to move three points clear of Rising Sun A, who scrambled a draw with Amalgamated B.
Horse Shoe’s 7-1 hammering of Brunel Arms A lifts them to third, Brunel having John Edge to thank for preventing complete humiliation.
Division Three leaders Liberal Club whitewashed Swan and Chequers, who drop four places to ninth, and are seven points ahead of Kings Arms B, beaten 5-3 by the Hawk and nine clear of the Raven who drew at Coppenhall Club.
Division Four’s top four clashed, leaders White Lion still five points clear despite losing 5-3 to main challengers Duke of Bridgewater C.
Third-placed Willaston Club are two points further back with Nantwich Road Club climbing three places to fourth after beating Duke of Bridgewater B 5-3.
Division Five leaders Prince of Wales A edged out their D team 5-3, as did main rivals Brunel Arms C with their B team, now three points adrift of them.
