CREWE and Liberal Club Open League Premier Division Dominoes leaders Kings Arms A forfeited a 3-0 lead in their draw at Vine A.

Main challengers Hop Pole A’s 5-3 win at Commercial closed the points gap on the leaders to one.

Third-placed West End Band C beat Pioneers Club A 6-2 to pose a significant threat to the top two.

Division One toppers Pioneers Club B won 5-3 at Flying Lady A. Coupled with second-placed Delamere’s 6-2 loss to Amalgamated A this puts them five points clear.

White Lion A won 5-3 at Earl of Chester to re-enter the fray that sees second to seventh places covered by four points.

Division Two’s top two Oddfellows Club and Rising Sun A drew their clash, but main challengers Express failed to capitalize as they also drew with Brunel A and head the remaining eight teams covered by just six points.

Division Three’s leading pair also met with leaders Liberal Club’s 5-3 win demoting Kings B to third and giving the Liberal a seven points lead over new challengers Hawk, who beat Swan and Chequers 5-3. The new top two meet head on next match.

Division Four pacemakers White Lion were held to a draw by fourth-placed Willaston Club, but as the other two teams in the leading quartet, Duke of Bridgewater C and Nantwich Road B only had mediocre results nothing much changed.

Division Five’s top two met with leaders Prince of Wales C just edging out Brunel Arms C 5-3 to take a 12 points lead.

As in the darts, any inroads into this lead need the help of their C team, but as they are a very close third they will be looking at their own interests first.
