THE final league match of the Crewe Liberal Club Open League season saw Rileys Club A, already confirmed as Division Three darts champions, gain the four points they required for promotion to Division 2.

However, they had to pull out all the stops on the way. Rileys gained just one darts win, in which Ben Snape hit an 18 darter, and two dominoes triumphs, in the first 10 games to ensure a top two finish.

They were up against a very determined Raven team intent on preventing them from achieving that important fourth victory.

Fortunately for Rileys this was gained in the fifth darts singles game by Karl Goodwin in an extended battle with Raven’s Andy Wilson, so Rileys A added the ‘Promoted as Champions’ tag to their darts portfolio.

Rileys overall seven-point haul demoted Hawk to the second promotion place and Kings Arms B to third.
