THE Crewe Liberal Club Open League may have a further resignation shortly as Cheese Hall from Division 5 again did not play after experiencing extreme problems with player availability and may fold.

The adverse effect on Divisions is reflected is some temporary misleading placings. On a brighter note all eight dart teams with 100% win records retained them.

Premier Division Darts matches provided four 5-3 victories when the top four of Pioneers A, Cosey Club, LMR B and Nantwich Road ASLEF all asserted themselves over the bottom four to open up a five points gap but with no positional changes.

Top darts came from Clive Lucking (Delamere) with a 16 dart leg, Patrick Lynskey (LMR B) with 17 and 18 darters and a 180 and team mate Danny Ayres and Bobby Baynham (Cosey Club) with single 17 dart wins. Carl Dennell (LMR B), Mark Jodrill (Cosey Club) and Jamie Yarwood (Commercial) all fired 18 dart legs, Jamie concluding his with a 112 checkout and Mark’s including a 180. Jules Wilde (Cosey Club hit a 19 darter, Mark Tirrell (LMR B) a 103 finish and Daryll Taylor (Kings A) a maximum 180.

Division 1 Darts has Brunel Arms A taking over top place by four points after a 5-3 win at Nantwich Road A, Oddfellows Club bye week demoted them to second. Broughton Arms beat Pioneers B 5-3 to move up to third after Amalgamated A’s first win demoted Flying Lady A to fourth. Steve Faddes (Amals A) won in 17 and 20 darts, Lee Powell (Lady A) hit a 20 darter, Eddie Hamill (Hop Pole A) a 115 finish and team mate Paul Sheehan a 180.

Division 2 Darts top five teams The Imp, Horse Shoe, Sydney Arms, Amalgamated B and Bridge A met, and beat, the bottom five. Only Amalgamated B gained ground, their 7-1 dusting of promoted hosts Hawk putting them ahead of Bridge A

 Hawk’s Mark France hit a 108 checkout and with John Howard staved off a whitewash with a last game pairs win. Ken Greenall (Imp) hit a 17 dart leg, with team mate Stuart Wilson, Mark Broomhall (Woodside) and Rob Paine (Sydney) hitting 18 darters, Rob including a 180 in his.

Martin Patrick (Horse Shoe) registered a maximum 180. Division 3 Darts leaders Willaston Club’s 7-1 mauling of Vine B, for whom Andy Lindop prevented a whitewash, takes them six points clear of Swan & Chequers, held to a draw by Kings Arms B.

Liberal Club’s first win, 5-3 over Coppenhall Club, demoted Coppenhall to fourth on matches won, behind Nantwich Road B who won 5-3 at Captain Webb. Willaston Club duo Joey Reade and Paul Goodwin hit respective 15 and 17 darters, Colin Spencer (Webb) a 101 checkout on the bull and Tony Taylor (Kings B) a 180.

Division 4 Darts toppers Prince of Wales A walloped hosts Brunel C 7-1 to move five points clear of Duke of Bridgewater C, held to a draw by lowly Dishers B. John Speed (Prince A) won in 18 darts. Division 5 Darts pacemakers Prince of Wales D beat Foresters Arms B 5-3 to double their points lead over Coach and Horses, beaten 5-3 at third placed Dishers A, to four.
