CREWE Liberal Club Open League Premier Division’s top three sides demonstrated their prowess with easy wins.

Cliff Davison’s win staved off a whitewash for Nantwich Road ASLEF in their loss to West End LMR B, while Pioneers Club A beat Commercial and Cosey Club defeated Vine A.

Despite Vine's loss, Robbie Arrowsmith was on form with a 14-darter, while teammate Ken Cliffe enjoyed a 107 finish.

They met a Cosey side boasting some top performers with Simon Preston making 15 and 17 darters and a 180, Bobby Baynham a 16 dart leg and Mark Jodrill a 158 kill by bombing an 18-darter.

LMR B’s hotshots were also in no mood to give anything away. Chris Gibson hit a 15-darter before teaming up with Danny Ayres in a 33 dart pairs win, Chris Townsend won in 17 and 20, Carl Dennel won with a brace of 18 darters and a 180, while Patrick Lynskey enjoyed a 19-darter.

Division One's top two Oddfellows Club and Brunel Arms A met with 100 per cent records at stake.

Brunel skipper Jordan Bradley hit a 180 and clinched the 5-3 win with a last match pairs triumph with partner Lee Woolley to put them one point behind the Oddies and with their unblemished record intact.

Generous Flying Lady A let slip a 3-0 lead in their 5-3 defeat at Nantwich Road A. Dave Yates (Hop Pole A) won with a brace of 18 darters, with team mates Eddie Hamill and Paul Sheehan also on the mark with 18 darters, Paul including a 180 in his.

Oddfellows duo Dave Coyne and Gary Talbot hit 19 dart legs and Steve Faddes (Amalgamated A) a maximum.

Division Two leaders Imp led lowly Woodside 4-0, but relied heavily on Ken Greenall and Ryan Proctor’s last game win to retain their unblemished win record.

Second placed Horse Shoe were unimpressive in a scrambled 5-3 victory over fifth placed Amalgamated B to stay 13 points off the pace, but with a match in hand.

Third-placed Sydney Arms drop a point behind after wins in both pairs gained them a draw against Bridge A.

Ken Greenall (Imp) ended an 18 dart leg with a 104 checkout, brothers Rob and Jay Paine (Sydney Arms) fired 180’s and Tommy Clarke (Bridge C) hit two high scoring 171s.

Division Three pacemakers Willaston Club met third placed Nantwich Road B with 100 per cent win records at stake.

Willaston won 5-3 but their lead was only slightly dented by second placed challengers Swan & Chequers 6-2 defeat of Cheshire Cheese.

Coppenhall’s Dave Morris prevented his teams whitewash by at near neighbours Captain Webb. Rick Clorley (Willaston) hit a 16 darter, Simon Felton (Nantwich Road) a 19 darter and Dave Tew-Weaver (Willaston) a 180.

Jamie Ball (Webb) hit a 117 finish, team mate Reg Cooper won with 96 and 117 finishes and Shaun Young (Liberal) with a 104 two dart kill on the bull.

Division Four's top two met, leaders Prince of Wales A’s 6-2 win at Duke of Bridgewater C demoting the losers to third and putting the leaders seven points clear of new challengers White Lion, 5-3 victors at Nags Head.

Darren Cooper (Duke C) hit a 180 but was beaten by John Speed (Prince A) who fired an 18 darter.

In the only match played in Division Five, leaders Hop Pole B moved three points clear after beating closest rivals Prince of Wales D 5-3.
