NANTWICH Town were just seconds away from taking all three points at home to Buxton.

But an equaliser in the 95th minute of the game gave the Bucks a 1-1 draw at the Weaver Stadium.

The Dabbers had taken the lead after five minutes through Aaron Burns and all three points were looking to be staying in Cheshire, but for the late Shaun Tuton goal.

Both teams forced early corners, which didn’t test the team’s defenses.

Nantwich took the lead on six minutes, when Buxton keeper Arron Jameson dropped a corner from Iain Howard and Aaron Burns tapped home from inches out.

The Dabbers could have had a second goal when Mat Bailey headed onto Adam Jones, but the defender was offside.

Nantwich continued to be the better side as Iain Howard’s cross almost found Steve Jones. But the ball ran out for a goal kick as the Dabbers pushed for goal number two.

Howard tried the spectacular on 17 minutes when he ran through but his shot from distance was wide of Jameson goal.

Then Andy White burst into the area, but his shot was just over the bar for the Dabbers.

Neil Stevens had the first chance for Buxton from the edge of the area, but it went well wide of the goal.

Howard almost scored directly from a corner as it dipped in towards the back stick but it went wide of the goal.

Steve Jones was next to have a chance to score with Burns open but the chance went over the bar.

Terry Smith had to make a fine save as Bucks captain Laurie Wilson struck from distance.

The first real chance of the second half fell to Burns as he almost got his second. He looked to cross the ball but it dipped towards goal and over the bar.

Andy Pearson nearly made it 2-0, when seized on a loose kick but he was blocked from advancing into the area.

The Dabbers did have the ball into net on 50 minutes when Kosylo played in Burns but the assistant flag was raised for offside.

Buxton tested Smith with a shot from distance through Tuton but it flew over Smith’s bar.

Then moments later Smith parried a free kick to Young but he put the effort wide of the goal.

Sub Mark Reed then should have equalised when he was open in the area but the unmarked forward headed wide of the target.

Buxton started to get in the game but they didn’t seem to find their shooting boots as another effort when over after a counter attack.

Howard tried his luck from distance as he shot from outside the D. It took a deflection and in the end it was an easy catch for Jameson.

Andy White could have his first goal of the season as a Howard cross found the left back but his shot was just wide of the goal.

Ash Palmer was booked as Steve Jones was stopped on his run. But his free kick was just wide of the goal.

Kosylo was brought for Harry Clayton with five minutes to go.

Burns should have sealed the game when a shot from Howard was deflected through to the forward who hit his shot over the bar.

Goal scorer Aaron Burns came off with a couple of minutes to go as Mark Winslade looked to add to his improving goal tally.

Steve Jones should have wrapped up the points when Jameson tipped a cross to the NI man but he took it wide and Howard put it over.

But Buxton equalized in the final minute of injury time when Shaun Tuton lashed home to take a spoil of the points. It was heartbreaking for the Dabbers as they controlled the majority of the game.
