THE top two dominoes divisions in the Crewe Oddies Club Open League have assumed the mantle of draw specialists.

Premier Division darts pacemakers W/End LMR B thrashed visitors Nantwich Road ASLEF 7-1, with ASLEF skipper Graham Threadgold staving off an embarrassing whitewash.

LMR B now head Pioneers A, 5-3 winners at bottom placed Kings Arms A, by five points, with the Pi’s now four clear of Delamere Arms after they lost 5-3 at Cosey Club.

Vine A’s generosity saw them forfeit a 3-0 lead in their draw at Holly Bush. Top marksman was Delamere’s Clive Lucking who won in 14 and 15 darts.

Vine A’s Robbie Arrowsmith and Dave Coyne (Oddies) fired 15 darters, Robbie including a 180 in his and Dave concluding his with a 108 checkout. Simon Preston (Cosey) and Chris Gibson (LMR B) bombed 16 dart legs, Danny Ayres (LMR B) won in 17 and 18 darts and Jordan Bradley (Brunel A) in 17 and 19.

Division One has Horse Shoe taking over at the top by a point after their whitewash of visitors Flying Lady A lifted them from fourth.

Deposed leaders Cheshire Cheese were held to a draw at Nantwich Road A, who let slip an early 3-1 advantage, with Hop Pole A moving within a point of them after a 5-3 win at bottom placed White Lion.

Hop Pole duo Frazer Hill and Darren Walker hit respective 16 and 20 dart legs, Ben Snape (The Imp) a 113 finish and Ron Threadgold (‘Mals A) and Daz Downey (Pioneers B) registered maximum 180s.

Division Two's top pair Amalgamated B and Willaston Club hit six apiece against Captain Webb and Bridge C, with the ‘Mals still top on the matches won parameter.

Nantwich Road B climb two places to third after beating hosts Rising Sun A 6-2, with Bridge A dropping back a place to fourth after recovering from 3-1 down to draw at Sydney Arms.

The latter pair are tied on points but Nantwich Road lead on matches won, although both are five points off the pace.

Division Three leading duo Brunel Arms B and Kings Arms B remain separated by four points after 5-3 wins at Swan & Chequers and Nags Head B, with third placed Cheshire Cheese moving closer after thrashing hosts Flying Lady B 7-1, for whom Fran Whelan prevented complete humiliation.

White Lion were in a generous mood, forfeiting a 3-0 lead in their 5-3 loss to visitors Sun B. John Speed (Brunel B) ended his 15 dart leg with a 112 kill, and received solid backup from Ben Davies with a brace of 18 darters and a 180 and Mel Roberts who also hit a 180.

Division Four's top two Duke of Bridgewater B and Brunel C clashed with their 100 per cent win records at stake.

Brunel took the initiative by taking a 3-1 lead, but the Duke rallied and won all the remaining games for the 5-3 victory that doubled their points' advantage to four.

Third placed Coach & Horses failed to take advantage by only drawing with newcomers British Lion, whose last pair Ronnie Leslie and Graham Warburton won to celebrate the end of an opening four match losing streak.

Ryan Proctor (Duke B) won in 19 darts and Simon Cope (Dishers A) in 21, with maximum 180’s fired by Trevor Dawson (Duke B), Kevin Thackwell (Brunel C), James Nolan Hop Pole B and David Rockall (Foresters B).

In Premier Division Dominoes, the top flight returned four drawn matches and a 5-3 win for Brunel A over fellow promoted outfit Oddies, giving them bragging rights for a while. Delamere avenged their darts defeat by relieving Cosey of their 100% win record when they scrambled a draw and LMR B displayed their generosity by letting slip a 4-1 lead in their draw with Nantwich Road ASLEF.

A very close section has five points covering all but bottom placed Oddies.

Division One's pacemakers Nantwich Road A coasted to a 6-2 victory over Cheshire Cheese to move four points clear. Second placed Horse Shoe were beaten 5-3 by Flying Lady A, who head a group of five chasing teams just two points behind them.

Division Three leaders White Lion returned to winning ways, a 5-3 victory over Rising Sun B putting them five points clear of Coppenhall Club, who lost by the same score line at Vine B and now lead a strong challenging group of seven teams covered by three points.

Division Four has new leaders in Brunel C, who took their foot off at 4-0, hosts Duke of Bridgewater B relishing the challenge and scrambled a draw. Deposed leaders Dishers B did not play, but as in all the other Sections head a chasing group of six covered by three points.
