NANTWICH Town kept their place among the division's front runners with four points from six this week.

The Dabbers drew at Workington on Saturday thanks to a second-half Joshua Gordon effort, before getting their first win of the month at Sutton Coldfield on Tuesday.

The last-ditch winner came from Lewis Short in the 88th minute of a game that also saw the Dabbers pick up their second clean sheet of the season thanks to an excellent display from goalkeeper Krystian Burzynski.

It took 14 minutes for Dabbers to first worry Sutton stopper James Wren, when Hancock fired just wide after collecting the ball from Liam Shotton.

Andy White then tried his luck from outside of the box on 26 minutes but his shot was easily collected Wren.

For the hosts, Malcolm Melvin weaved his way in between the Nantwich defence, but steered an effort wide from 18 yards out.

Gordon created Town's first effort after the break, jinking beyond two Sutton players to find Shotton, but the striker's shot was saved by Wren.

With 66 minutes gone, Shotton went clear from Matt Bell's pass before firing off target.

Sutton threatened for the first with 12 minutes remaining when Luke Rodgers found Sergine Diop, but his effort crept wide.

Rodgers had a chance to steal the points himself moments later, but he hit the side netting after Burzyinski parried Ramone Stephens' effort.

The Dabbers keeper was forced into action again soon after, saving from Rodgers one-on-one.

And with only two minutes left to play, Short pinched a dramatic winner for the visitors.

Bell’s deflected attempt fell into the path of Short in the Sutton box and he confidently placed the ball into the bottom corner.

Phil Parkinson's side will look to continue their promotion push when they host Marine on Saturday, before Stourbridge visit on Tuesday.
