THREE teams from Nantwich Town FC made the trip of a lifetime as they headed down to St George's Park in Burton-upon-Trent.

Home of English football, the players from Dabbers' under 12s, under 13s and youth team headed to Burton for the FA National Coaches Conference.

While there the players were given a tour of facilities including the dressing room which the England senior players use, before being able to showcase their skills on the indoor training pitch.

It wasn't just their coaches watching on. But the likes of former Watford manager Aidy Boothrody, Wayne Allison and Premier league-winning captain Tony Adams.

Northwich Guardian:

The players all received positive feedback from the coaches on their fitness, technical play and attitude.

Football Development Officer Steve Smithies said: "It was a fantastic experience for the players involved to help them develop their game as well as the coaches, as it has given them some ideas to blend into the sessions and matches they run.

“For them to get feedback from the likes of Tony Adams, who went right to the top in the English game, including playing for England and captaining Arsenal to the Premier League title, is amazing.

“The lads will remember this for the rest of their lives.

“It's been also great for them to represent the name Nantwich Town FC and their teams as well as the club as a whole.

"They can be proud with the way the conducted themselves and took on all the feedback and hopefully they will be able to use it in their games.”
