THE Crewe Oddies Club Open League seems to be heading for our regular Grandstand finish.

The Darts, in the main, are two or three team contests.

Premier Division Darts top two again swapped places after W/End LMR B walloped bottom placed visitors Hop Pole A 7-1 and Pioneers Club A hit distant third placed Cosey Club for six, consequently returning LMR B back to the top on the matches won parameter.

LMR B marksmen were Danny Ayres who won with 17 and 18 darters and also fired a 180 and Chris Gibson who hit a 19 darter, the pair then joining forces for a 36 dart pairs win at 27.8 PDA.

Aaron Ayres chucked a 180 and then emulated his brother Danny by also blasting a 36 dart pairs win with Patrick Lynskey.

Bobby Baynham (Cosey) won in 15 and 18 darts and also registered a maximum.

Aaron Russell (Eight Farmers A) included a 180 in his 16 dart leg, while teammate Tom Kelly won in 17 and 19 darts.

Dave Coyne (Oddies) blasted this season’s best checkout of 161 to conclude an 18 dart leg, Mark Jodrill (Cosey) hit an 18 darter and Andy Pitt (Kings A) won in 19 and 20 darts.

Graham Threadgold (ASLEF) bombed a 148 finish and Mick Hassall (Vine A) and Cliff Williams (Shoe) respective 126 and 120 checkouts.

Paul Hamilton Jnr (Hop Pole A) blasted a 180 and father Paul Snr staved off an embarrassing whitewash for their team.

Division 1 Darts probable Champions Willaston Club beat White Lion Ford Lane 5-3 and are 13 points clear of Broughton Arms, who thrashed bottom placed visitors Brunel Arms A 7-1, with Kev Gaffney staving off the whitewash.

Third placed Amalgamated B overturned a 3-1 deficit to beat Pioneers Club B 5-3 and are now four points adrift of the Broughton and four clear of Cheshire Cheese, who scrambled a draw at the Crown.

Rob Paine (Willaston) won with a brace of 18 darters, Craig Smith (Cheese) fired a single 18 darter, Rob Challinor (Nantwich Road A) bombed a ton finish and maximum 180’s were chucked by Rich Sharp (Amals B) and Dan Downey (Pioneers B).

Division 2 Darts toppers Brunel Arms B increased their points advantage to eight with one of the sections four 5-3 victories after with main challengers Hawk slipped to a 5-3 defeat at the hands of Rising Sun A, now just five points behind them.

Both have two matches left, one of which is hosting the current leaders. Brunel B duo Lyndon Cartwright and John Speed hit respective 17 and 18 dart legs, Graham Wood (Kings B) fired a 133 checkout and teammate Tony Taylor a 21 darter.

Division 3 Darts has new leaders in Swan & Chequers, who blanked Duke of Bridgewater B to move six points ahead of Raven and need one point to clinch a top two place.

Raven’s bye week demoted them to second, but with a match in hand. Third placed Coppenhall Club were won 6-2 at Brunel Arms C, but are now realistically too far behind.

Luke Kennedy (Lady B) and James Pace (Swan) hit 19 dart legs, James ending his with a ton finish.

Gary Barlow checked out on 111 and Fran Whelan had a night to remember when she won with 104 and 109 kills. Mick Cope (Swan) blasted a 180.

Division 4 Darts pacemakers Nags Head A tripled their points lead to nine by thrashing hosts Dishers Club A 7-1, the latter now being challenged by Duke of Bridgewater C, who drew with bottom team Eight Farmer B.

Also in the equation are fourth placed Dishers Club B who won 6-2 at Bridge D, with Duke C’s run-in hinging on visits to both the Dishers teams.
Sean Morrey (Nag A) hit a 17 dart leg, John Ibbotson (Dishers B) an 18 darter and Brian Taylor (Coach) a 127 finish.
