PATRICK Lynskey claimed a second James Goodwin Memorial Darts Singles Knockout crown this week.

The Westend Lmr B star hit 17 and 15 dart legs, finishing a 3-0 victory over teammate Carl Dennel with a 12 darter which equalled the season's best by another team-mate Danny Ayres.

The final checkout of 164 was the season's highest which earned him additional trophies and prize money.

Lynskey was also in top form in the semi-final going into a 2-0 lead with 18 and 20 dart legs while opponent Rob Arrowsmith (Vine A) responded with a 20 darter in the third leg only for Lynskey to take the fourth leg for a 3-1 victory.

In the other semi-final Carl Dennel took the first leg in 18 darts with a 104 checkout as opponent Darren Cooper(Crown) won the second leg to level at 1-1 only for Dennel to hit 19 and 23 darts to claim a 3-1 victory and a place in the final.

In the quarter finals Lynskey and Cooper both reached the semis with 2-0 victories with Lynskey hitting 15 and 18 darts to beat team-mate Danny Ayres, while Cooper hit a 16 darter in his victory over Westend Lmr B’s Dave Bickerton.

Rob Arrowsmith(Vine A) won 2-1 helped with a 18 dart leg and a 180 maximum against Wayne Patton(Kings Arms A) and Carl Dennel (Westend Lmr B) earned his place in the semi-finals with a 2-1 victory over Any Pitt(Kings Arms A).

Lynskey was also in top form in the earlier rounds hitting 13, 17,18 and 19 dart legs.

Other Westend Lmr B players in form were Danny Ayres 17 darts, Chris Gibson and Shaun Wilkinson both with 180s, Rob Arrowsmith(Vine A) 16 darts, Wayne Patton (Kings Arms A) 18 and 20 darts, Stuart Wilson(Crown) and Rocky Snelson(Nantwich Rd Aslef) both hit 180s, Sarah Goodwin(Brunel B) 112 checkout.

The final of the Jeff Beech Memorial dominoes pairs knockout was won 2-0 by Willaston Club duo Ken Fisher/Dave Potts receiving the cash prize of £45 while Brunel B pair Ron Beech/Sarah Goodwin had to settle for the runners-up prize of £25.

In the semi-finals Fishers/Potts beat Dave Mulliner/Steve Wilson(Duke C/Kings B) 2-0 and Beech/Goodwin defeated Pete Ayres/Kev Goodwin(Westend Lmr B).

The subsidiary dominoes singles competition for players knockout in the earlier rounds of the pairs competition was won by Betty Harding (Nags Head A) who won 2-0 against runner-up Les Cooke(Duke of Bridgewater B).

In the league the Division Three dominoes required a play off between Coppenhall Club and Duke of Bridgewater B to decide who were champions as they were level on all criteria.

In the play off Coppenhall took the lead 4-3 going into the final pairs game which was won by Mick Cunningham/Roy Clews to give Coppenhall a 5-3 win and the third division championship with Duke of Bridgewater B as runners-up.
