NANTWICH Town have signed SIX new players.

Goalkeeper Daniel Gyollai, right back James Baillie, full back Tommy Cooney, centre half or midfielder Curtis Jones, midfielder Nicky Platt and attacker Max Harrop have all come on board.

With an unprecedented amount of injuries to key players, Phil Parkinson moved swiftly prior to the closure of the NPL transfer deadline and ahead of a large amount of fixtures during the remainder of March and April.

Gyollai is a highly rated U19 Hungarian international with a commanding 6ft 5in present who arrives on loan from Stoke City until the end of the season.

Baillie, aged 20, is a second-year professional on loan from neighbours Crewe Alexandra, while Irishman Cooney lists previous clubs as Boston and Corby.

Ball-playing centre half or holding centre midfielder Jones previously had spells with Stockport and Celtic, while Platt is an experienced midfielder making a welcome return to the Dabbers.

Harrop is highly rated up front, looking to provide lots more exciting and magical moments this season.

Director of football operations Jon Gold said: “Following the magnificent FA Trophy heroics and the resulting unprecedented injuries to such a large number of key players, it was clear that we needed to strengthen our squad quickly, especially with the deadline for signing players looming and the unfeasibly large number of games in quick succession coming up.

"It’s been a busy 24 hours travelling around getting the business done and I would like to thank everyone involved in ensuring that we were able to bring these quality players to the club in such a short space of time.”

Dabbers manager Parkinson added: “I am delighted that we have been able to bring such a talented group of players into the club at this stage of the season.

“We have a fantastic squad of players already here, and together they have achieved so much, but we are still hungry and passionate to finish the season as high as possible to give our loyal supporters some more memorable games and something to get excited about, as we prepare for next season.

"The frustratingly large number of injuries we currently have has meant the need to add to our squad to ensure that we stay on course to achieve our objectives for the season.”
