Nantwich Town 1 Rushall Olympic 0.

NANTWICH Town picked up a long-overdue first home win of the season as they saw off high-flying Rushall Olympic on Tuesday night.

The victory sees the Dabbers jump to 14th in the Evo-Stik Premier Division table.

The visitors arrived with Alex Reid, the league’s top scorer, in tow but the Nantwich defence worked hard to keep him and powerful strike partner Mo Diop quiet.

Ben Harrison had a back-heeled effort cleared off the line before Dave Walker hit the rebound wide as the half ended scoreless.

However, Ryan Brooke provided the turning point after the hour by cutting inside and smashing a dipping effort into the top corner from 25 yards.

Phil Parkinson’s side welcome Stourbridge to Weaver Stadium on Saturday for their FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round clash, kick off 3pm.
