NANTWICH Town boss Phil Parkinson praised the strength in depth in his Dabbers squad after they extended an unbeaten run away from home to eight games.

Osadebi Abadaki put them in front at the break during Saturday’s clash with Corby Town before Dave Walker doubled the lead after the interval.

Those goals secured a 2-0 win for Parkinson’s side to move them up to 11th in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League’s top flight table.

They are yet to taste defeat away from Weaver Stadium this season and Parkinson says his side should have arguably won by more.

“I’m very happy because we’ve come away from home and are undefeated still in the league,” he said.

“It’s something we are trying to take a little bit of pride in, and to do that at this point in the season is great for us.

“I thought it really showed the depth of our squad. We had three key players missing, and the lads who came in were superb.

“I am disappointed it wasn’t more than two, I did say that to the lads in a game like this.

“I thought we played a little bit better in the first half, the way we passed the ball. The second half was a little bit scrappy, but we’ve kept a clean sheet.”

The Dabbers made a perfect start in Northamptonshire when Abadaki scored his third goal of the season with a fine finish from the edge of the box.

Parkinson was full of praise for the winger’s performance afterwards.

“Whenever he wants he can tear a full back to pieces,” he said.

“He’s got everything; it’s just a mental thing with him with regards to whether he can do it continuously.

“We want to improve Ossie. He’s been working on his game, you can see the end product with regards to the goal he scored but there are things he can work on.

Nantwich face a Cheshire derby in the FA Trophy on Saturday as they travel to Warrington Town, kick off 3pm.
