ROOKIE lifeguard Izzy Serventi is continuing to lead the way at Nantwich Neptune Lifesaving Club.

The seven-year-old is the club’s youngest member and, in addition to her Royal Life Saving Society UK Rookie Lifeguard participation, she is also fully embracing Swim England’s Learn To Swim programme.

“I’ve always enjoyed my swimming lessons but when I saw the advert for Rookie Lifeguard, I really wanted to jump right in,” Izzy said.

“There’s so much to do in the water, the games and challenges are great fun, I’ve learned lots and I’ve made new friends too!”

Nantwich Neptune coach Julie Pearson hailed Izzy as “an inspiration” to her fellow members.

“She’s a joy to coach and we hope she adds to her awards and goes from strength-to-strength,” she said.

“We offer numerous challenges for our club members, who age from eight to 80, but Izzy is an inspirational example of someone who just loves being in the water.”

Nantwich Neptune Lifesaving Club has been going for more than 40 years and has a history of success in national competitions.

The club runs at Nantwich Pool on Wall Lane every Saturday morning 8am-9am.

Affiliated with RLSS UK, club members can get involved with water safety, lifesaving skills as well as national competitions.
