CREWE driver Rob Smith is hoping a return to the site of his first victory of 2017 can inspire him to more MINI Challenge UK points.
The series returns to Brands Hatch this weekend for rounds 14 and 15 on the track’s GP circuit.
Just three weeks ago, on the Kent track’s shorter Indy circuit, Smith beat off the competition to secure his place on the top step of the podium.
“I do like the GP track at Brands, and we’ve gone very well there in the past,” the 24-year-old said.
“I’m looking forward to it and hoping to keep the good momentum we’ve had over the last couple of events rolling on.
“Taking the win on the Indy Circuit was fantastic and although what happened in the second race was a huge disappointment, we know what we’re capable of.”
Having amassed 367 points so far, Smith sits sixth in the drivers’ standings.
