CREWE'S Shanaze Reade is ready to conquer the world once again.

The 18-year-old local sporting sensation is back on her BMX with sights set on lifting another major title next weekend.

Reade is currently in final preparations for an assault on the UCI BMX World Championships, taking place in Victoria, Canada, from July 26-29.

This four-day event is particularly huge, being the first since the sport was awarded Olympic status for 2008.

Over 2,500 competitors from around 40 countries will take part with our lady a clear favourite to take the Elite Women's title.

It's no surprise with her talent on two wheels unquestionable.

She's already lifted three World crowns and eight European titles in her first love before a stunning switch to the track earlier this year.

Reade established herself as British cycling's new star by winning gold at the World Track Championships in Spain just over three months ago.

However BMX remains her priority for next year's Olympics and she hopes to compete as the World champ.

"I just can't wait to get started racing," she said.

"My training and preparation have been going extremely well.

"With winning the World Title on the track earlier this year, I'm so up for having a crack at being a double World champion going into the Beijing Olympics next year."
