Hopping to the top of the table

THERE was once again a change in the Premier Division Dominoes lead this week, with Hop Pole’s 6-2 defeat of W/End LMR B moving them to the top by a point.

Express A are up to second after a 5-3 win at Cosey Club, with deposed leaders Imperial third after drawing with Nantwich Road ASLEF.

Six points now cover the top six teams.

None of Division One's top three managed a win, with leaders Express B losing 5-3 to bottom placed Cheshire Cheese.

Second-placed Foresters A let slip a 3-1 lead in their draw with Bridge A and third-placed Broughton Arms lost 5-3 to Amalgamated A.

Fourth-placed Woodside reduced their points deficit behind Broughton to two after beating Rockwood 6-2.

Division Two has new leaders in Bridge A, with their draw at Rileys Club A putting them level on points with Kings Arms A, but top on matches won.

Kings Arms A went down 5-3 at White Lion Ford Lane A, who are now just one point behind them.

Division Three's top two, White Lion Ford Lane B and Coppenhall Club, gained 5-3 wins at Flying Lady B and Dishers Club B to remain separated by two points.

Third-placed Liberal Club gained a little ground after beating Sydney Arms 6-2, with Rising Sun A demoted to fourth after forfeiting a 3-1 lead in their draw at Waldron A.

Division Four's toppers Cumberland C beat third-placed Prince of Wales D 5-3 to move three points clear.

Second-placed Kings Arms B overturned a 4-1 deficit to draw with Prince of Wales E.

The top two cannot rest easy as just four points cover third to ninth places.

Division Five pacemakers White Lion A hit seven at Flying Lady C to open up a seven-point buffer from Cumberland A, who were 5-3 winners at Brunel A.

Rileys Club B move back into contention, their 7-1 win at Captain Webb A lifting them to a close third spot.

Division Six is getting very tight after leaders Rising Sun B lost 6-2 to third-placed visitors Oddfellows Club and second-placed Brunel C scrambled a draw with bottom placed Cheese Hall.

Fourth-placed Brunel B hammered Foresters Arms B 7-1 and are back in touch with the top trio with a match in hand.
